Nineteen-year old Brittany Boyer could not hide her tears of happiness as she received her free wedding dress from a popular retail store in Phoenix, Arizona.
She immediately sent a photo of herself wearing the dress to her fiancé who’s currently stationed in Iraq.
“This is the dress I’m going to be married in. I know it’s silly to cry, but this is it. This is my dress,” she said. All she needs now for
her big day is some bridal lingerie!
The Azteca Wedding Plaza took part in the national campaign called Brides Across America to donate wedding dresses to future military brides. Boyer was one of the 41 lucky recipients.
According to reports, most of the fiancés of the recipients are stationed in Iraq or Afghanistan.
Azteca posted their ad in one of the websites and the first 41 female respondents got the wedding dresses.
Azteca co-owner Royna Rosell said that the initiative serves as a gift to the soldiers who bravely took the risk of being stationed in war-torn countries and their loved ones left in the U.S.
The initiative was a huge success since Azteca received donations from other vendors and manufacturers. The prices of the gowns range from $550 to $2,000.
