Vintage clothing collector David Tetrault created a wedding museum for everyone visiting Niagara Falls, dubbed as the “Honeymoon Capital of the World.”
Tetrault has been collecting vintage clothes for more than two decades. As of now he has collected more than 2,000 of them, including vintage wedding dresses and bridal lingerie that look absolutely great.
He reasoned that the move behind the launch is to share to the public his passion and to show the world that Niagara Falls indeed lives up to its reputation as the honeymoon capital.
The Wedding Museum just had its grand opening last weekend. He and partner Doddy Sardjito are the brains behind this unique undertaking.
Nearly 60 vintage wedding dresses are on display at the museum. The oldest gown among those displayed was the one worn in 1830. The most recent one was in 1995.
Surprisingly, not all of the dresses are in classic white. Some are in purple and blue.
Tetrault said that he managed to collect these dresses because he used to be a professional dancer and traveling the world became an opportunity for him to shop around and find great pieces.
Until now, Tetrault continues to visit vintage clothing shows in Canada.
