Ivanka Trump Wedding

Ivanka Trump, daughter of multibillionaire businessman Donald Trump, got married on Sunday to New York Observer publisher Jared Kushner. Her bridal gown got the most attention as it was designed by globally-recognized fashion designer Vera Wang.

The 27-year old walked down the aisle with her new husband in front of five hundred guests at the Trump International Golf Club in New Jersey. According to reports, the new bride simply knew what she wants to happen on her special day.

Wang said that she was told to come up with a bridal gown that is not overly designed but has the dignified look that would not sacrifice charm and youthful look. There were layers of handmade lace placed on the expensive-looking bridal gown.

The attendees all agreed with one thing – the new bride simply looked amazing and that’s because she had found the man of her dreams.

Anna Paquin

We won’t be seeing actress Anna Paquin wearing a designer wedding dress in the near future.

The “True Blood” actress, currently engaged to her co-star Stephen Moyer, revealed that she never fantasized about getting married and gets freaked out of the prospect of planning her big day with all the stresses that it entails. She also never thought of herself wearing a designer wedding dress.

She was quoted as saying that she’s not “one of those girls” who spend countless hours dreaming of that perfect wedding and the reception afterwards.

The 27-year old actress said that she’s currently enjoying her time working with her fiancé because the show gave them the opportunity to spend more time together.

Her 39-year old boyfriend echoed her sentiments, saying that he’s also not in a rush to get married.

The couple said that they are happy with the way things are as of the moment.

Bridal gowns

A bridal shop owner donated bridal gowns to a hundred brides who recently lost employment, and they are not cheap wedding dresses at all.

The bridal shop, named The Bride’s Choice, is located in Plantation, Florida. The owner, Patricia South, said that postponing a wedding due to financial crisis and job retrenchment is devastating, which prompted her to come up with this project.

Some of the brides, who lost lucrative jobs, happily accepted the wedding dresses – stating that their special day will no longer be postponed because they no longer have to shell out more money for the dress.

The lucky 100 women were made to pick their preferred gown in the store and were also asked to specify their dress sizes so that they can be tailor-made to fit their bodies perfectly and also get to pick from a wide range of bridal lingerie.

South said that every bride deserves a memorable wedding.

bridesmaid dresses

Seen the film “27 Dresses”? One could only surmise that in every wedding, bridesmaid dresses can only be used once and after that, it can be stored in the dark recesses of your closet – never to be used or seen again.

However, the trend on wearing bridesmaid dresses for all occasions has started. This could be attributed to the global financial crisis where people are starting to save on money and to innovate when it comes to fashion.

Fashion designers are now beginning to offer bridesmaid dresses that could be used as dinner attire or formal wear in all occasions. In order to avoid getting noticed for wearing the same outfit, bridal stores are now offering chic wraps which can be used to wrap around the dress for that sultry, sexy look.

Plus, the internet can be accessed easily for research and tons of options to choose from. Indeed, the perception on bridesmaid dresses has changed.

Wedding dresses, bridal accessories and many more were a hit during the recently concluded British Bridal Exhibition 2010 held in Harrogate. According to reports, buyers from different parts of the world participated in this momentous event to spend their hard-earned money on quality wedding items such as men’s formal wear, wedding dresses, dresses for bridesmaids, wedding shoes and bridal accessories. As per estimate by the organizers, about 4,000 shoppers were at the show and they came from almost 2,000 companies with 1,500 coming from wedding retail stores. Making a buzz in the event are the attractive bridal dresses and accessories for plus-size women. The rapid sales of these items only mean that there’s an ongoing increase in demand from larger-sized women. Several fashion designers were also present to personally showcase their products to the clients, who came from countries such as Spain, Russia, Poland and France.
