A bridal lingerie made quite a splash during the recently concluded Berlin Fashion Week. This, after the bridal lingerie turned out to be the wedding outfit itself!

The Kaviar Gauche designed g-string wedding outfit made its debut at the Berlin Fashion Week and got a lot of tongues wagging. The question now is - are consumers, particularly excited brides to be, ready to wear such an edgy bridal lingerie cum bridal gown?

The risque g-string wedding dress looks like a bra and a barely there thong joined together by a central slip. The bride will then also need to wear a translucent wedding veil during her big wedding march and wedding day.

Some fashion observers also describe the edgy Kaviar Gauche wedding outfit as a monokini-style swimsuit - a swimsuit connected on the front by a thin strip.

The bridal house of Kaviar Gauche is composed by Alexandra Fischer Roehler and Johanna Kuhl. The said bridal house started in the year 2003. This bridal lingerie is said to be its most risky yet.

The g-string wedding outfit is part of their spring 2012 collection.

Fischer Roehler and Kuhl are mavericks of the bridal design world. They took quite the risk but managed to really grab a lot of attention around the world with the risque garment. Their g-string wedding creation comes after world renowned designer Vera Wang also released her black wedding dresses during New York’s bridal fashion week.

The highly-acclaimed English artist, William Powell Frith (1819-1909), captures the differences in clothes and costumes between the classes in 1840’s Victorian Britain in his painting ‘Poverty and Wealth’ – the ragged poor are pale, dark, scruffy imitations of the rich.   In another great piece of art, ‘Ramsgate Sands’ (1852-54), Frith brings together a multitude of characters in a gay scene: a holiday at the fashionable Kent seaside resort where the girls are dressed in replicas of adult clothes –  bonnets and short coats over silk or satin crinoline dresses.

It was at the beginning of Victorian Britain, with the invention of chemical dyes, that cloth was available in very bright or deep colours.  Dress shops were now able to draw-in their customers, attracted by the alluring colour, tartans and stripes.
Victorian Wedding dresses were usually  high necked with long sleeves. A bride was married in any colour. This style dress is also a popular choice today.

The hour-glass silhouette of wide skirt, wasp waist and exaggerated bust of the 1840’s was replaced by the tea-cosy silhouette.  Both styles of dress were in expensive silk and satin worn both day and night, along with silk damask, brocade, watered silk and shot taffeta.  Dresses made from crepe-de-chine, gauze, muslin, barege and tarlatan were modish as ball gowns and in the summer months because of the extreme lightness of the material.  Regrettably, as today there was much waste in the fashion industry, for instance, those dancing and summer dresses of exquisitely light fabric had only a limited life because with a loss of freshness inevitably came a loss of elegance.

The promotion of the highly anticipated release of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part One” next month hit a little snag as the film’s costume designer was accused of allegedly ripping off one of the designs of late celebrity fashion designer Alexander McQueen in one of the film’s major characters.

Costume designer Jany Temime stated in an interview with Los Angeles Times about her inspiration behind the wedding gown worn by character Fleur Delacour (played by actress Clémence Poésy) for her marriage to Bill Weasley. However, when the design was unveiled, one of the bloggers stated that it was a rip-off from McQueen’s autumn/winter 2008 collection.

As of now, there’s no official statement coming from the officials from Alexander McQueen’s company and Temime’s side has yet to be taken about this latest allegation.

Harry Potter is scheduled for release on November 19.

Grammy-Award winning artist Lady Gaga may very well go nude when she walks down the aisle. According to reports, pictures of her purported wedding dress emerged online and in tabloid magazines.

The “Bad Romance” singer was photographed taking part in a spiritual wedding ceremony and her outfit pretty much caught everyone’s attention.

Paparazzi photos revealed that the artist and her fiancé Luc Carl were exchanging wedding rings at a Grecian beach. Lady Gaga was wedding a wedding dress that had a huge slit and plunging neckline. The revealing ensemble still made her look sexy but classy at the same time. Lady Gaga is notorious for having a racey sense of fashion, and this latest stunt has many wondering what kind of lingerie she must have been wearing in order to wear such a dress… if any!

The 24-year old artist and 29-year old boyfriend/fiancé have been dating on and off for several years. It was reported last month that the pair had reunited and will seal their relationship with marriage.

Despite this development, it is yet to be determined if the event was really their wedding or just something that they thought of doing that weekend.

Actress Kristen Stewart catches global media attention once more when she revealed in a recent interview that she called the shot in choosing the wedding dress for her role in the highly popular film “Twilight,” specifically on its upcoming installment titled “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.”

At the Cinema Society and Everlon Diamond Knot Collection’s screening of the film “Welcome To the Rileys” at the Tribeca Grand Hotel in New York City, the actress said in an interview with MTV Networks that she had a hand in choosing the wedding dress of “Bella,” the role she famously played for the film.

Stewart said that though the final decision came from “Twilight” actor Stephenie Meyer, her opinion and preference have been heard out.

Last year, a feature in “InStyle” showed possible designs for wedding dress. Most of the fans liked the concept provided by fashion designer Monique Lhuillier.

Australian bridal gown retailers revealed that despite the trend these days where brides would like to experiment and go for outrageously designed wedding gowns, majority would still go for classic bridal gowns because they would still prefer to stick with tradition.

Angela Wilson, an owner of her own bridal shop, said that even though traditional church weddings are going down in number, brides-to-be still opt for the classic dresses.

Bigger dresses are also being preferred by more of her buyers rather than the slimming gowns because the width of the skirts are being appreciated.

Wilson said that she just conducted a major fashion show and it proved very fruitful after she met 120 brides in just a matter of two days.

Instead of the traditional white colors for the bridal gowns, more women are choosing other brighter colors for their wedding outfits, along with more risque wedding lingerie.
